Hockey participation in Luton is on the rise as more people are joining clubs, playing in leagues and organising casual games. What makes hockey so popular is the fact it can be played on various types of surfaces, such as indoor, artificial, 2G astroturf and more. The pitches are equipped with floodlights, changing rooms, parking areas, pay as you play facilities, etc. To play the sport you will need a hockey stick and these can vary in price, we recommend whatever feels comfortable to you. As well as a stick you’ll need astroturf-suitable shoes, shin pads, a gum shield and a hockey glove. Hockey is perfect for fitness as it is a high-intensity sport that has many cardiovascular benefits.
