What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is when a community aggregate their money to financially support a business they believe in, via an online platform. Further information about crowdfunding can be found here. We are equity crowdfunding, which means that each investor will receive a share in our business, which carries the potential to make a profit when the business is sold, as well as exclusive rewards.

Why is Playfinder crowdfunding?

Our crowdfunding project is to raise money for our growth strategy that will establish the business across the UK. Money raised will be used to grow our sales team and investing in technology. Crowdfunding allows us to give people a chance to get involved in the business and share the success alongside some hugely influential investors

How can I invest?

We’ve teamed up with Crowdcube, a crowdfunding platform, to manage our crowdfunding campaign. When the campaign launches, you will be able to invest via the Crowdcube website.

Who can invest?

Anyone who is over 18 years old and legally entitled to invest, except people who reside in the US, Canada or Japan. Customers who would like to join the crowdfunding movement just need to sign-up through the Crowdcube website.

When will the crowdfunding campaign go live?

Our campaign is launching on 13th November.

Will Playfinder customers have exclusive access to the investment?

Playfinder backers and anyone who registers their interest early will be given the opportunity to invest ahead of the general public.

Who else has invested in Playfinder?

We started Playfinder by raising our SEIS round from a group of angel investors who have been hugely helpful throughout our journey, and have raised further rounds under EIS. Our investors include an ex-chairman of the FA and CEOs and founders of FTSE 100 companies. Graeme Le Saux sits on our board, a passionate grassroots supporter.

What is Crowdcube?

Crowdcube is a crowdfunding platform for start-ups and growing businesses. Crowdcube enables individuals to invest in companies in return for shares of the company.

How can I make money out of this investment?

Shareholders will receive a return on their investment if there is a share sale event, such as an IPO (launching onto a stock exchange), a trade sale (sale to another company), or a share buyback.

How much can I invest?

The minimum amount that can be invested is £10, if you’d like to invest more than £25,000 – please drop us an email and we’ll chat more at invest@playfinder.com.

How will Brexit affect Playfinder’s supply chain?

We operate in Ireland and as a result we do anticipate some change in the way we invoice clients there, but this won’t have any effect to our margins and would be purely an administrative change.

What is EIS, and will this investment be considered EIS?

Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) is a form of tax relief in which eligible investors can claim up to 30% income tax relief on investments up to £1 million per tax year. We have received EIS advance assurance for this round, you can request access to the assurance confirmation in the documents section of our Crowdcube page when our campaign is live.
