There is a single concrete tennis court that also moonlights as a netball court. A full size hockey pitch is available for hire for £85 per hour during off-peak times and £129.60 in peak. There are floodlights around the pitch and changing rooms. John Orwell Sports Centre opens between 7am and 10pm on week days, 9am to 6pm on Saturdays and then from 9am to 7pm on a Sunday
Football lovers in Bermondsey should be sure to check out the Harris Academy facility. There is a cracking 3G astroturf pitch that can be used for 11-a-side football matches whether you’re after a friendly or more serious league match. The football venue can also be used for shorter format games like five-a-side and seven-a-side. Those travelling by public transport should head to Bermondsey Underground station on the Jubilee line. It should be noted that there is no parking onsite, but there are changing rooms for footballers looking to get ready here.

Southwark council helps residents be aware of the sporting options they have on their doorstop to invest in the health of locals.
Southwark Council have partnered with Everyone Active to enable local residents to use the swim and gym facilities for free in six of the borough’s leisure centres. From 29th July onwards Southwark locals can take advantage of this deal anytime on Friday and Saturday or Sunday afternoons post 2pm until close. In a bid to reach a new audience Over 60s can get involved in any Silver sessions free of charge. An extension of this initiative means disabled residents in the area can use all the leisure facilities for free throughout the week.
