Ahead of the FA Cup final this weekend, check out 8 of the best FA Cup final goals, from last minute winners, to 30 yard screamers. Enjoy.
Michael Owen vs Arsenal (2001)
The second of Owen’s goals for Liverpool in this final was a special one. Slotted in from a seemly impossible angle on his weaker foot, completing the turn around after Arsenal dominated the early stages.
Ray Parlour vs Chelsea (2002)
The first goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Chelsea in 2002 was an absolute beauty. It was only Parlour’s second goal of the season, the first also coming in the FA Cup.
Norman Whiteside vs Everton (1995)
Whiteside picks the ball up out wide and ends up curling this beauty into the bottom corner. What a way to score the match winning goal for Manchester United deep into extra-time.
Frank Lampard vs Everton (2009)
Saha may have scored the fastest FA final goal ever after just 25 seconds, but this match-winning strike from Lampard meant Chelsea won 2-1 after Drogba’s equaliser.
Steven Gerrard vs West Ham United (2006)
What a cup final and what a goal. Gerrard equalises in the 90th minute to make it 3-3 and take the game to extra-time. Liverpool went on to win on penalties.
Ricky Villa vs West Ham United (1981)
In this final replay, Tottenham’s Ricky Villa weaves expertly through the City defense before slotting the ball under the keeper to score the match winning goal.
Alexis Sanchez vs Aston Villa (2015)
This goal from Alexis Sanchez to put Arsenal 2-0 up effectively put the game to bed. The Gunners went on to beat Villa 4-0 and lift the cup for the second year running.
Roberto Di Matteo vs Middlesborough (1997)
Chelsea got off to a great start against ‘Boro in the 1997 FA Cup Final, Di Matteo’s strike coming after just 43 seconds, and they don’t get more iconic than that. Chelsea went on to win 2-0.
