Harris City Academy Crystal Palace manages the venue which has a wide range of facilities on site. There is a fully equipped gym which features an aerobic and cardio studio. Highly qualified staff at Lewis Sports are on hand to work with visitors to deliver an excellent customer experience.

May’s Outstanding London Sports Venue Award

Lewis Sports Centre opened as part of the Harris Federation which is a not-for-profit charity with over 25 years’ experience of education in and around London. Indoor and outdoor pitches are available for hire to cater for football all year around. Netball, basketball, table tennis and netball can also be booked at Lewis Sports Centre. Equipment can be hired or bought on site for those wishing to try a sport for the first time or anyone that’s forgotten their racket.

A report from Sport England (September 2015) found that 34.3% of people in Croydon are involved in sport at least once a week for 30 minutes, while the figure stands at 42.8% in Bromley. Across the two boroughs there are 135 venues listed on the Playfinder site and Lewis Sports Centre is one of the very best.

The award, which is determined by Playfinder users, was based on pitch quality, venue amenities and customer experience. Playfinder is a platform for sports players who want to find and book sports venues in London. Users have the choice of over 1,000 venues for 15 featured sports.

Jamie Foale, Co-Founder of Playfinder, said:“The team at Lewis Sports Centre thoroughly deserves this month’s award as it continues to play a significant role in helping locals get active around Croydon and Bromley. Its encouragement of active citizens and developing healthy habits for life is highly commendable and congratulations to everyone involved.”

Adam Nauth, Centre Manager at Lewis Sports Centre said: ““Everyone at the Lewis Sports Centre is delighted to have received this award. It highlights the effort our staff put in to the centre and it’s so pleasing to be recognised for bringing sport into the community. We hope to maintain our high standards and continue to impress our customers while welcoming new ones.”

Playfinder will be presenting an award to a stand out sports venue each month based on the feedback from its users.
