Salford’s Ordsall Leisure Centre has won February’s Playfinder Outstanding Sports Facility Award.
The venue, situated on Craven Drive, is operated by Salford Community Leisure and has some of the finest facilities across Greater Manchester. Visitors have access to a multi-purpose sports hall, a dance studio, a gymnastics and trampolining centre, indoor bowls and a full size 3G Astroturf pitch suitable for 7/9 and full size games. There is also a multi-sensory room providing a relaxing environment for people of all ages and abilities and the venue is a centre of gymnastic excellence.
February’s grassroots award, which is determined by Playfinder users, is based on pitch quality, venue amenities and customer experience.
Playfinder is a platform for sports players who want to find and book sports venues in London, Manchester and Dublin. Users have the choice of over 9,000 venues across the cities for 16 featured sports.
Jamie Foale, Co-Founder of Playfinder, commented: “Manchester’s grassroots sports scene is in rude health and Ordsall Leisure Centre plays a key role in the local community. The facilities are superb and cater for a wide range of activities – well done to everyone involved at the centre.”
Mark Chew, Director of Leisure at Salford community leisure, said: “We’re delighted to provide quality playing pitches and sports facilities across the Salford area and are delighted that Ordsall Leisure Centre has been voted for by users as the best in the area.”
