Playfinder’s revolutionary sports facilities booking service bounces into Bedford

Playfinder, the UK’s leading search and instant booking platform for recreational sports, has expanded its revolutionary service into Bedfordshire after signing a partnership with Bedford Borough Council.

This will provide a quick and simple way to find and book a multitude of facilities, including Wixams artificial pitch, Mowsbury Park and Hillgrounds.

Playfinder already has partnerships with Waltham Forest and Islington Council’s where the service has significantly increased use of facilities by allowing users to book online or through the app.

This agreement will see Playfinder manage and list Bedford Borough’s portfolio of football, rugby and cricket sports facilities on its platform. These facilities are now available to simply book online or through the iOS or Android app.

Bedford residents will now be able to explore 11 venues and choose to play football, rugby and cricket listed on the site. The product provides a genuine solution to the age old issues of simply finding and booking places to play sport.

Playfinder provides sport players with an easy way to access real-time booking availability at sports venues from a tap of the app or a click of a button. Urban life sometimes makes it tough to make time for sports and that’s why the search-by-time feature has had success in ensuring that people get out and play more often.

At the end of 2018 the Football Foundation and Playfinder teamed up to roll out its innovative booking portal for community football venues.

In May, the service was nominated for the Best Technology for Sports Participation at the Yahoo Sports Technology Awards.
