Best Rugby Pitches in London

The Six Nations got underway last weekend, with Wales winning convincingly against Italy, and England and Scotland squeaking past France and Ireland respectively. Now attention turns to this weekend with England taking on Wales in Cardiff, and if you’re inspired to get playing, we’ve picked out the best rugby pitches in London to get you started.

Old Actonians Association – West London

If you’re looking for a rugby union pitch in West London, look no further than the Old Actonians Association grass pitch in Ealing. 10 minutes from Acton Town underground station, you won’t find a much better venue in the area. It’s even got changing rooms and free parking onsite, so you’re well looked after for a Sunday morning game.

New River Sport & Fitness – North London

You can play on both grass and 3G astroturf pitches at New River Sport & Fitness in North London. The 3G rugby pitch has floodlights so you can play well into the evening over the winter months and know the pitch won’t get a battering from the weather. You can get to the venue via the underground at Wood Green station, but there’s also free parking.

Aylward Academy – North London

Aylward Academy in Enfield has a great grass rugby pitch perfect for an after work or weekend game. Silver Street overground station is within walking distance of the venue if you’d rather take public transport but you’re welcome to take advantage of the free parking facilities. You can also use the onsite changing rooms to scrub off all that mud before you head home.

Shoreditch Park – East London

Looking for rugby pitches in East London? Shoreditch Park is a great option for rugby union on a grass pitch. Access the park via overground to Hoxton station or use the pay and display parking facilities. There are also changing rooms but be aware that no floodlights mean it’s not suitable for a winter evening game.
