Waltham Forest is based in north west London and is home to an excellent selection of sporting venues for hire. Local badminton and basketball courts are able to be booked with ease through MyLocalPitch. Other indoor facilities for hire are squash and tennis, although there are also some outdoor tennis courts that can be booked in the area. Waltham Forest has a good number of venues that cater for cricket, cycling and golf. Football pitches for 5-a-side, 7-a-side and 11-a-side can be booked in this part of London too. Sylvestrian Leisure Centre also has an outdoor pitch for booking that works for netball and tennis on the macadam surface. The venue also has a full-size hockey pitch that costs £10 per hour and there is also a gym. Free parking is on offer for anyone driving or the nearest station is Snaresbrook. Opening times are from 7am to 10pm on weekdays, 8am to 6pm on Saturday and then 9am to 6pm each Sunday.
Walthamstow Leisure Centre is situated close to Walthamstow Cemetery and St James Park. The sports venue has football, badminton, squash, netball and basketball available for booking online. Football fans are able to hire out the indoor pitch for five-a-side and six-a-side matches whether you’re after one-off games or league fixtures. The squash courts are in great nick and well suited for matches with friends or more competitive league games. Anyone driving to the venue can park for free or if public transport is your preference then the best stations are Walthamstow Central or Queens Road – both of which are Overground.

A £24.5m sum is being invested to offer an opportunity to inspire a generation. Since 2013, GLL has completed the refurbishment of Walthamstow Leisure Centre and Leyton Gym. Leyton Leisure Centre and Leytonstone Leisure Centre (formerly known as Cathall Leisure Centre) have been re-opened. Waltham Forest Pool and Track is being rebuilt as part of the Council’s multi-million-pound improvement programme to leisure facilities across the borough.
